The following information is from the book, The Passion Test, by Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood. Below are some of my favorite quotes from the book, as well as information that’s good to remember when following your life’s purpose.

This is one of my favorite quotes from The Passion Test book.
“There are two great days in a person’s life--the day we are born and the day we discover why.”

--William Barclay, Scottish theologian and author, 1907-1978

“When you follow your bliss…doors will open where you would not have thought

there would be doors; and where there wouldn’t be doors for anyone else.” – Joseph Campbell

“When you are aligned with you deepest, most important passions, the ups and downs of daily life won’t be able to throw you off track.”

“When you are clear, what you want will show up in your life, and only to the extent that you are clear.”

“Whenever you are faced with a choice, a decision, or an opportunity, choose in favor of your passions.”

“When you are truly passionate about something you will always have the ability to create it in your life.”

“Your life is created first in your mind and then your world.”

“As your trust that things will work out well grows, the speed with which you manifest your dreams will increase dramatically.”

  The Passion Test Mantra:

1.       Intention

2.        Attention

3.       No Tension

What do we mean by intention?

Intention is the conscious or unconscious choice to create.  All of us are constantly creating the circumstances and situations in our world by virtue of the beliefs and concepts we hold to be true.

Your results will always match your true intentions.

What do we mean by attention?

Attention is the subjective awareness directed to an object.  All of us give attention to something  in every waking moment of our life.  Life changes when the object of your attention becomes your conscious choice. Every day you create your experience of life from what you give your attention to.

What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life.

What do we mean by no tension?

Creating intensions and putting your attention on them is a simple, easy, effortless process

The seven keys to living life with passion:

1.       Commitment

2.       Clarity

3.       Attention

4.       Stay Open

5.       Integrity

6.       Persistence

7.       Follow Your Heart

Food for thought:

·         Get clear on the “what” and the “how” will begin to appear

·         Stay open.  Let go of how you think your life should be and embrace how it is.

·         You know you are aligned with your passions when things happen to you that others might find uncomfortable, and they don’t even faze you because you are so driven  by the fire inside

·         Be prepared to find blessings coming to you from situations and circumstances that may at first appear to be the opposite.  Look for the blessing.

·         It takes courage to follow your own path.  Surround yourself with people who support what you are doing.  Avoid people who don’t.

·         Passion is a journey not a destination.  When you love the process, the results will take care of themselves.

·         Life is here to enjoy.  The purpose of life is the expansion of happiness.

There are only three things that hold you back from living a passionate life:

1.       False ideas

2.       False concepts

3.       False beliefs

These are some things you might think about yourself that are false and prevent you from living an authentic life:

·         I can’t live my passions because I have to support my family.

·         I can’t make money from the things I’m passionate about.

·         I don’t have the skills to be really successful

·         I’m too old.  It’s too late for me.

·         I’m too young.  I don’t have enough experience.

·         I’m too_____________(you fill in the blank)  weak , afraid, tall, short, fat, skinny

·         I don’t know enough

·         I’m not outgoing enough

·         I’m not_______enough (you fill in the blank). This is really “I’m not enough.”
